What if I told you that the United States of America is hurtling toward a fiery calamity — not random or accidental — but cyclical, predictable, and perilously close?
History strikes a match every 80 years (plus or minus a few years). The spark ignites a big war. Each war came on schedule. This cycle can be accurately observed over 600 years of American and British history:
- The Revolutionary War — 1775
- The Civil War — 1861
- World War II — 1941
- World War III — 2022
Yes, you read correctly. The Third World War's opening salvo was launched on February 24, 2022 when Russia invaded Ukraine after years of NATO's provocations. What comes next is not the beginning — but the conflagration, the climax, the mega-fire. Fierce battles have already been fought: Ukraine, Iran, Gaza, Syria, Lebanon, and perhaps Taiwan, India, and Pakistan.
If you are saying, "Wait a minute! There have not been any nuclear weapons used yet," my reply is that the nightmarish weapons are reserved for the war's grand finale. That's why this book exists: to awaken, warn, and prepare you for the war's finish — not its start. We are rapidly approaching the climax stage, a Red-Hot Danger Zone between 2029 and 2036.
There is no guarantee that the United States of America will survive intact, without substantial loss of life or destruction of cities and vital infrastructure. The coming disaster can be averted, but there is little likelihood that the American people would be willing to take the radical steps necessary to pause the cyclical clock. Humans seldom learn from the past. National repentance has rarely happened in human history. Ancient Nineveh repented and was spared destruction, but the city-state was destroyed years later when it resumed its predictable journey on the Sin Cycle.
Don't hold your breath for the American people to repent. People are stubborn. I'll give you one action step to prove to God that we are serious about our national repentance: Close the doors to every abortion clinic in the USA! That's not going to happen because the American people are not remorseful for slaughtering millions of God's innocent babies. However, World War III's survivors will wail and lament their complacency about America's infanticide.
This book wasn't born overnight. I didn't wake up one day and decide to write a book about a dystopian nightmare. The book's thesis was shaped by decades of studying the Holy Bible, spiritual visions and prophetic dreams, and my studious daily observations and analysis of world affairs since 1998.
I didn't put it all together until I read Neil Howe's newest book in mid-October 2024. Something clicked in my mind and soul, and this book emerged. I am a massive fan of Neil Howe and his former research partner, Mr. William Strauss, who passed away in 2007. In this book, I avoided writing detailed chapters explaining historical studies of cycles. I strongly recommend you read Mr. Neil Howe's 590-page book The Fourth Turning Is Here: What the Seasons of History Tell Us about How and When This Crisis Will End to acquire a scholarly understanding of the Strauss-Howe Generational Theory.

The Pat Robertson–Hal Lindsey Dream
I began writing Mega Fire's manuscript in late November 2024 and completed the final edits in June 2025, as Israel and Iran struck each other with destructive missiles. Yes, World War III started in 2022. This book is about its conclusion, not its beginning.
Mega Fire could have been published sooner, but I am not a full-time author. Moreover, I have come to a spiritual resting place of inner peace in my senior years, accepting God's perfect timing. I'll give an example of how God's Spirit spoke to me about this book. Five or six years ago, I had an unusual dream that I knew was divinely inspired. One way I see a dream as divinely inspired is when I remember every minute detail, like frames in a movie. I mentally replay each frame as I pray and ask for the Holy Spirit's interpretation.
I don't recall the precise date of the dream, perhaps late 2019 or early 2020. In the dream, I was inside a convention hall attending an exhibition. The unusual part of the dream was the manner of my movements. Everyone in the exhibit hall was walking upright, but I crawled through exhibits on my hands and knees! I was unable to stand and walk like everybody else in the hall. An invisible force was pushing me down, suppressing me, not allowing me to walk upright.
However, I spotted an exhibit for the Christian Broadcasting Network. Dr. Pat Robertson, my former employer in the 1980s, proudly stood inside the CBN exhibit booth, and I felt compelled to visit him. In the 1980s, I was his national cable television marketing manager for the CBN Cable Channel, which later became the Family Channel. After departing CBN's employment, I never had the opportunity to speak to Dr. Robertson again.
I crawled on my hands and knees around many people's legs. For some reason, the CBN booth had aluminum stanchion posts and top rails to control the movement of people entering the booth's space, similar to a ticket booth or airport security area. To get to Dr. Robertson, I had to go through the setup of posts and rails, zig-zagging back and forth to manage the visitors seeking to reach the front of CBN's exhibit booth.
Traveling on my hands and knees, I bypassed the zig-zagging pattern flow of foot traffic and crawled in a beeline to reach Pat Robertson. When I reached the front of the booth, I was staring at Dr. Robertson's polished shoes and business suit pants. The oppression holding me down disappeared.
…then. I used my shoulders to snap an aluminum rail off its stanchion post, and it fell to the floor. I stood to my feet and looked directly into the eyes of Dr. Pat Robertson, who was standing in his normal blue blood regal posture of confidence and authority.
There I stood. A country boy from Western Maryland, and grandson of Russell Wiles, a carpenter who quit school in the third grade to drive mules on the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal in 1905, staring into the eyes of a patrician, Virginia-born, Yale Law School-educated grandson of U.S. Senator Absalom Willis Robertson. I had something to say, and the time to say it had arrived.
I looked into Dr. Robertson's eyes and said, "Pardon me, I must stand up. I have something to say."
Before he could respond, an urgent news bulletin flashed on the video screen attached to CBN's exhibition booth's back wall. The face of Hal Lindsey was displayed. The news alert announced the death of Mr. Lindsey, the famous author of The Late Great Planet Earth. Published in 1970, more than 40 million copies were sold over several decades. The book became the definitive statement of faith for Evangelicals who accepted the doctrines espoused by John Nelson Darby and Cyrus Scofield. In most Evangelical churches, the "secret rapture" doctrine is settled law and cannot be questioned without the questioner suffering severe consequences, including excommunication.
In addition to Hal Lindsey's photo, the news bulletin included the years of Mr. Lindsey's life: 1929 to 20__. The last two numbers were not visible to me. I could only see that he died sometime in the 2020s. The dream ended abruptly.
What does that strange dream have to do with this book, Mega Fire?
I began writing Mega Fire during my Thanksgiving Day weekend break, November 28 – December 1, 2024. I am an early riser each morning. One morning in late December 2024, the Holy Spirit immediately spoke to me when I awakened between 3:30 and 4:00 AM. The Spirit said, "Have you forgotten the Hal Lindsey dream?"
I jumped out of bed and went to my prayer room, a spare bedroom on the other side of the house. Curiously eager to know why the Lord started my morning with such a question, I said to God, "I have not forgotten the dream, but I admit I haven't thought about it for several years. Why are you bringing it to my attention today?"
The Holy Spirit asked me, "When did you start writing Mega Fire?"
I replied, "The early morning hours of Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2024."
Next, the Holy Spirit asked, "What was the date of Hal Lindsey's death?"
I said, "I don't know, but I will go online now to find it." Using my phone, I searched for Hal Lindsey's death date and was surprised: November 25, 2024!
Hal Lindsey, the man who convinced tens of millions of Evangelicals they would be taken away in a secret rapture before the days of tribulation, died days before I commenced writing the first draft of Mega Fire, a book warning the American people that great tribulation is coming to our nation.
What is the dream's connection to Mega Fire?
I stood up when Hal Lindsey died.
A Fig Farmer, Not a Prophet
I am not a prophet, not even close to being one. I can easily identify with Amos in the Old Covenant sacred scriptures, who said, "I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet's son, but I was a herdsman, and a farmer of sycamore figs…"
Sometimes God uses unlikely people to prophesy what the official prophets won't dare say. Where are Ravenhill, Tozer, and Wilkerson? Why did their prophetic cries go silent? Why did they go home and leave us alone to face the fire?
When religious leaders won't speak God's messages, He will inspire an obedient fig farmer to do it. It's like a baseball team losing so severely that the desperate manager goes into the locker room, finds the janitor, and tells him to put on a uniform, go out to home plate, and do his best to hit the ball.
I wrote this book because I love my Heavenly Father, and He asked me to do it. I guess He couldn't find anybody else to stand up and say it for Him.
For some reason known only to God, the writing of Mega Fire was connected to the death of prophecy author Hal Lindsey. Mega Fire is the message I must proclaim. I don't always understand God's ways, but I know His ways and timing are perfect. I am also keenly aware that my ways are woefully imperfect. However, I can go to my grave knowing that I never quit, never gave up, and persisted in delivering the message to the American people: a great fire is coming!
New World Order 2.0
For the record: I am not predicting the end of the world. I am not saying the world is ending soon. However, I am saying this: the world as we know it will not survive this Fourth Turning.
The old New World Order, formed after 1945, is dead. An all-new New World Order will congeal when World War III is settled. The fire will significantly alter many nations' political, social, and perhaps geographical landscapes. Cities will burn. Nations will fall. New nations will suddenly arise. Maps will change. And life will continue until Jesus Christ pulls down the curtains on the age of mankind.
First, however, there must be the mother of all wars. That war is only a few years away. I wrote Mega Fire to jolt you into a war mindset. Complacency must be banished from your mind. The normalcy bias must be eradicated from your thinking. You have a few years to prepare for the calamity coming to America and much of the world in the 2030s. Horrific, destructive wars could erupt by 2029, perhaps as early as 2027. South America, Africa, and certain islands may be among the few places on Earth spared devastation.
Divine Inspiration While Sheltering in a Walk-In Closet
This book talks a lot about cycles. Cycles are not fortune-telling. Historical cycles refer to the idea that historical events, trends, or patterns tend to repeat themselves over time in a recurring sequence. This concept suggests that history doesn't progress linearly but cyclically, with periods of stability, growth, decline, and renewal.
These cycles often involve recurring themes such as the rise and fall of civilizations, economic booms and busts, revolutions, wars, and social transformations. History repeats itself because humankind hasn't changed since Adam and Eve were evicted from the Garden of Eden.
Around 2005, I became fascinated with the study of cycles. In August 2004, the Holy Spirit alerted me that a real estate crash and bank liquidity crisis were ahead. The Lord inspired me to discover some of the cycle experts you will read about in this book. Based on the Holy Spirit's inspiration and the experts' projections based on their knowledge of cycles, I sold my home and office in early 2005, paid off debt, and waited for the storm to hit.
Years later, God moved me to Florida, the epicenter of the real estate crash, and I purchased foreclosed properties for pennies on the dollar. When the real estate market recovered, I sold those properties at excellent prices.
That experience made me aware of the presence of historical cycles: business cycles, war cycles, political cycles, climate cycles, etc. For the record, another real estate crash is due to hit in 2026, according to the 18-year real estate cycle. The last crash was in 2008. Add 18 years, and you get 2026.
We are also rapidly approaching a stock market crash cycle, likely in 2027 or 2028. In short, several powerful cycles, like ocean waves, are coming ashore simultaneously: the real estate crash cycle, the stock market crash cycle, and the 80-year war cycle.
A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself; but the simple pass on, and are punished.

In 2012, I read The Fourth Turning: An American Prophecy — What the Cycles of History Tell Us About America's Next Rendezvous with Destiny, a 1997 book by William Strauss and Neil Howe. Starting in 2012, I interviewed Mr. Howe several times on TruNews, my podcast that I hosted for 26 years before retiring in 2025. Afterward, I read their 1992 book Generations: The History of America's Future, 1584 to 2069.
Beginning in the Spring of 2024, I experienced a season of a mood I call "divine discontentment." It comes upon you when the Holy Spirit notifies you that a new season, a change in direction, is coming to your life. I couldn't shake the feeling that my 26 years as host of TruNews were finished. I knew God was taking me on a new path, but couldn't discern the direction.
I dreamed of things I desired to do for the Kingdom of God, but my TruNews duties kept me chained to a rigid schedule. I was so restless, I cried out one day in September 2024 and asked God, "What must I do to know your plan for my life and ministry?" My Bible was on my desk in front of me. I opened it and immediately saw Jesus' instruction to His weary disciples:
…You come apart into a deserted place, and rest awhile. For there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.
Mark 6:31
God directly replied through His Word to an earnest question. That is the primary manner in which He speaks to us. There was no need to seek Him for answers and revelation about a new direction until I separated from life's busyness, went to a deserted, quiet location, and rested in His presence until the revelation came from Heaven. God does not act in our lives beyond our last act of obedience.
Mega Fire
I promptly informed my wife, Susan, and staff that I would be away for a week of prayer. Initially, I planned to go to Sanibel Island, Florida, only three hours from our home on Florida's Treasure Coast. However, the Holy Spirit nudged me not to go to Sanibel but to find a place farther north.
I decided to drive over eight hours to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Jesus said to go to a deserted place. Believe me, in late September, Myrtle Beach was deserted. There were few tourists. Susan traveled with me and graciously respected my need to be alone with the Lord daily. As usual, I started each day at 4 AM. I sat on our hotel room's balcony facing the Atlantic Ocean for seven days, equipped with my Bible, notepad, pen, and coffee. Susan and I went to the beach or pool in the afternoons, where I continued praying and Bible reading. I kept that routine daily until 6 PM. It was not a vacation. I was hungry to hear God's voice.
Each day, I asked the Lord what He desired to say. I jotted down notes of thoughts that came into my mind, along with Bible scriptures. Looking back, I see a pattern. There was a different daily theme that, when put together, painted a path forward for my life and ministry.
I love those who love me. Those who seek me diligently will find me.

While in Myrtle Beach, Hurricane Helene revved up fast and furious in the Gulf of America and headed toward Florida's Gulf Coast. I'm glad we didn't go to Sanibel because Hurricane Helene slammed the island with high winds, heavy rain, and a storm surge. Local officials ordered residents to evacuate.
I tracked it daily on my AccuWeather app for indications that it might turn eastward and head up the coast toward Myrtle Beach. However, God's peace was upon us, and I felt no need to flee Myrtle Beach. Instead, the city received only mild winds and moderate rainfall. On the weather app's radar page, I observed Hurricane Helene's rain bands swooping around Myrtle Beach on the region's north and south sides. It was like an invisible shield protecting the city as I prayed daily on the balcony.
Susan and I checked out of the DoubleTree Resort on Saturday, September 28, 2024, and drove back to our Florida home. When I went to my office in Vero Beach on Monday, I noticed a new book on my conference table. It was The Fourth Turning Is Here by Neil Howe, a gift from Jody Schlabach, a longtime and valuable team member. I was unaware he had published the book in 2023.
Another hurricane, Milton, passed through Florida in early October. I read Mr. Howe's latest book for two days at home, including 4 hours inside our walk-in closet. An unprecedented outbreak of tornadoes in Florida terrorized several Treasure Coast counties for hours on October 9, 2024. I went to the closet when an EF3 tornado passed over the one-lane county road we live on, ripped off many roofs, and demolished large buildings only miles from my house. Like Myrtle Beach, I was safe while the storm raged around me.
The tornadoes whirled above me, and the Spirit stirred inside me. As I turned the pages of The Fourth Turning Is Here, something clicked deep inside my spirit. Generational cycles, the war cycle, biblical cycles… they all converged. This book began writing itself through my soul, although I didn't type the first sentences on my laptop until November 28, 2024.

Jesus Christ Is Our Only Hope
Although this book's message is dire, I am an eternal optimist. I always believe there is hope. If the sun rises, we have another day to do things correctly and fix past mistakes. I hope God's mercy mitigates the effects of the upcoming Fourth Turning calamity and lessens its scope of destruction by containing the fire and confining the damage.
However, I am also a realistic optimist. There is little awareness that America's gross immorality is contrary to God's holiness. Each of us has dwindling days to self-examine our hearts, minds, words, and actions and to align them with God's holiness. What will it take to change people's attitudes and behavior? Would a burning asteroid skimming across our atmosphere at a low altitude above the USA jolt Americans out of their spiritual stupor?
There are only two classes of humans: unforgiven sinners and forgiven sinners. If you are a Christian, don't think you are better than non-Christians. All of us have contributed to our nation's moral decline. None of us is without some degree of blame. We must examine our hearts, repent of unconfessed sins, ask for forgiveness, and seek God's mercy and grace.
Before being prepared for the outer fire, we must endure the inner fire, the purging of our sinful nature. Let's pray we all get through the Fourth Turning Crisis without being scorched.
For those Mega Fire readers who receive a spiritual awareness that America and other nations are racing toward something dark and ominous, I implore you to beseech the Holy Spirit to reveal your childhood traumas, deep emotional wounds, and hidden sins before the flames erupt. Your inner purification will be messy, smelly, and unpleasant, but you will be spiritually and emotionally clean.
Think of it as what happens when you become extremely sick after consuming spoiled food. The upchucking is gross, but you feel wonderful after all the tainted food is expelled. And don't judge others while they are throwing up their sins. Focus on yourself. You have toxins to expel, too.
Know this truth: Your Heavenly Father is far more merciful and gracious than ever imagined. His thoughts toward you are continuously good. The Holy Spirit will stay beside you while throwing up life's poisons. Don't be concerned about what others say about your emotional / spiritual vomiting.
Let your heart be fixed on being spiritually clean before your Maker before the Mega Fire erupts. Sin is flammable. Grace is noncombustible. Be saturated in God's grace. Don't fear war's flames that can burn your physical body. Fear the great God who can toss your soul into Hell's flames.
I challenge you to read the entire book. When finished, give it to somebody you love. Time is short. The fire is near. Grace flows like a river.
A repentant sinner saved by God's grace, mercy, and love.
